I read predominantly paranormal scorching romance, so when I saw these books I wasn't sure they were for me. I kept seeing them pop up as recommended and that was good.In these brittle times reading is my escape and I found great romance here. The characters were infused with every good facet a person needs. All their hopes and dreams played across the chapters. All the second guesses and hindsight quandaries played torturously with their hearts.The title tells you what happens but the chapters paint beautifully how it all happens.Great secondary characters, too. I was impressed with the level of editing and writing with this Author. I've hit a long run of poorly edited books and this book shone for its clarity.
I loved this book! It was a well written book based on romance in a small town! About two people who went through marriage, annulment and the trials of daily life, but made their way back to each other in the end! The characters came to life through the author's eyes! As you can see, I am not good at reviews! JUST READ THE BOOK!
I thought this was going to be a typical, sweet romance novel, but it was so much more! I got caught up in the story and literally couldn't put it down! The story of Whitney and Drew pulled me in and I found myself rooting for both of them. And I'm so glad Barbara Catlin added the sweet tea recipe. My parents came from Oklahoma so sweet tea was a staple at our house (drank out of Mason jars) and since my dad was a tow truck driver in a small town we always had lots of cops at our house, sitting around drinking tea. Those scenes brought those memories to the forefront of my mind while I was reading. Such a joy to read! GET THIS BOOK! You won't regret it.
They were married, briefly, several years ago, but family intervened and had the marriage annulled. But now that they're both back in town, the attraction they once felt still remains. Can they overcome their past to build a future.I loved the story. Well written, great storyline. I'll definitely check out more from this author.
I'm not going to bother with going over the plot, I feel that's been covered. What I loved about this book were the people. They come to life under Barbara's talented pen. I live in a small town. You can feel and really experience that kind of life within the pages of all Barbara's books, but most especially this one. Highly recommended.
This is a rather involved story, and at one point I feared for the outcome. But the various twisted plot lines came together for a satisfying story (always a plus). It has a cleaver premise, a nicely convoluted line to the completion, plus a mystery (of course), and a lot of unexpected events.
A very good romance! With a wonderful story line! Enjoyed it very much and didn't want it to end!! Have enjoyed all of Barbara Craven's books!!
