I received this book as a first Christmas present, and it's been with me ever since (27 years). I remember my mom reading me the fairy tales from the book (my absolute favorite was the 12 dancing princesses), and then as I got a little older I started reading them to her. I read some of the other reviews, but I have to say when I was 4 I never thought the pictures were too scary. I loved that book, and thankfully I had the hardcover version because otherwise it would have fallen apart a long time ago (as it is my version is taped up and looking pretty worn).I always said when I had a kid I'd read them the same stories. These are classic childrens tales, with illustrations that are classicly drawn works of art. It's easy to tell who the villians are. It's not Barbie or disney illustrations that won't really stand the test of time or seem way too "cartoonie". Use the online feature to see the different pages... they're beautifully illustrated.You can't go wrong with this book.

I had this book of Fairy Tales when I was a child, so I am a little nostalgic about it. I like that some of the stories are only a couple of pages long. Those are the stories that I read to my 3 year old, but I like that I have the other options for when she gets older. The only negative is that some of the stories end abruptly, but I still enjoy them.

After a long search for a complete set of all our favorite fairy tales in one book, I found this one. This book is a winner in terms of how well the stories are told (not dumbed down yet comprehendible) as well as the watercolor illustrations. For anyone searching out a book of fairy tales for the youngest of children, I would recommend stocking up on a few of your favorites in the Little Golden Book Disney versions for now- but buy this book anyway and save it for when they get older. Truly a great collection that in my opinion, deserves a place in every family's library.

We've been thumbing through fairy tale collections in bookstores and reading reviews online. We were looking for a collection of classic fairy tales that our homeschooled Kindergartener should be familiar with. We found just that in this book. The illustrations are beautiful, the stories are all well-known and the versions chosen are perfect. We read one fairy tale on Monday, review and do an activity on Wednesday and watch the story on Fairy Tale Theatre DVDs on Friday. He loves this routine and looks forward to a new story each week. Highly recommend this specific collection for your child's library!

One of my favorites from when I was a kid. Had to have this for my daughter. The stories are amazing, classic fairy tales. The illustrations are just amazing, so detailed, and even a little scary! Grimm fairy tales for the kiddos :) Love this book

I'd like to add my voice to the cumulative opinion that this is an excellent book for those who are first learning to delve into the registry. Mr. Born's explanations are clear, and he always gives several different ways to do everything. He shows the tradeoffs involved in doing something one way vs. another. I found the chapters on the Registry in Windows 9x Resource Kit, Expert Guide to Windows 9x, Mastering Windows 9x and Windows 9x Unleashed just did not teach me eonugh to know what I was looking at. Inside the Windows 9x Registry has done that. It even covers elementary .inf file programming. Helpful resources in appendices and tables explain cryptic commands; even the Shell32.dll icons are explained. One limit on my opinion: I have not read other books on the Registry, so I can't compare this book to those.

This book is a good book, the problem is, is that is aimed at non-technical people. As a programmer, I was expecting a much more thorough review of the registry, in particular, the hardware section. The book does not touch on the Registry API functions enough, and assumes readers will make registry operations with windows (control panel etc..). For hardcore readers, Windows SDK and DDK provide much more thorough (albeit difficult) answers.

My name is Ilya from Queens New York. I am the happy student of Nathan Oxenfeld whom has improved his vision greatly and making further progress in a goal of optimal 20/10 vision which Mr. Oxenfeld achieved. Working with him has been a breeze as he is truly a person who cares about you and your quality of life that can be gained through better or perfect vision. I wanted to learn from him because getting his book, I saw that he was someone who started with glasses of about -3.75 and has now 20/20 or better vision with the Bates method. I was amazed at the amount he gave away for free. I actually became his first VIP student to fly down to North Carolina and work one on one for a week. Yes I was able to get to that 20/20 line on the chart with the techniques he taught and helped explain to me. My biggest takeaway is the process of centralizing vision to a certain point and understanding that is the point you are always supposed to see the clearest. We are almost tricked into believing that we are supposed to see everything sharp at once. A good way of explaining perfect sight are professional head-shots of people where the person's face is sharp and the background is blurry. Now my everyday vision is my everyday vision practice. I am really grateful for being able to enjoy more the immense beauty of the world that surrounds us from nature, to buildings to people. What he helps you with is also overcome the psychological barriers that keep us from seeing clearly. Remember to see blurry is to strain, and once you let go of it, clear vision appears, a very counter-intuitive proposition as we are used to think we should force things to happen. My understanding of how vision works now also has progressed with another realization being that when we wear glasses that we are actually looking at the world through two tiny screens on our eyes, and that because the eye does not have to focus on various objects over time, it becomes a crutch that makes the adaptive muscles of the eyes weaker, combine those tiny screens over the eyes with the tiny screens of our phones and computers, we have a recipe for terrible vision. You may think that getting private lessons is too expensive, however I believe you can't afford not to as it is a quality of life issue. I remember the scene where Luke Skywalker holds Darth Vader in his arms and Darth asks his son to remove his mask as he wanted to see his son with his own eyes rather than the technological contraption he had on, a last wish of sorts. Having owned almost all the books on natural vision improvement and reading them all, I have found Nathan's book, teaching technique and care about his students, being a guide to help you unlock the perfect vision you already have, but need that guide to a whole new and improved life. Could not recommend more highly. What are you waiting for? A better life awaits.

Materials and concepts are great but the contents of this book repeats through out the book. I feel like I am reading same thing over and over. I honestly think this book should be less than 100 pages with actual content
