The Summa Contra Gentiles, by Aquinas (a.k.a. Thomas), is an excellent book to read. A reader can start anywhere with Aquinas's writings and be able to follow his theory. Broken up into small chapters, each with particular topics, Aquinas, known as the synthesizer, for trying to synthesize faith and reason, does an excellent job in this book that lays down the foundation for one part of the synthesis of reason and faith.

Well done. Reading Thomas Aquinas can initially be a challenge, but certainly worth the effort. A brilliant mind that shines across the centuries.

He was one of the DOCTORS OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH; and for a good reason He wasn't only a SAINT but an extremely WISE men.Anybody that wants to know more about GOD & HIS TEACHINGS should read it

Haven't finished the book. Very intelligent man living in the 1200's who was a prolific writer (or at least had what he was saying captured). We haven't evolved much, if at all from those dark ages.

This is Volume I (on God) of a 5 volume set. Aquinas wrote this work in order to refute the claims of the Islamic philosophers and theologians of his day and to help those who were Christian missionaries in Islamic areas. Thus, the set (and this book especially) were written in a sort of apologetic fashion. In this volume, Aquinas deal with the nature of God (i.e. simplicity, immutability, infinite, eternal, etc.). Also, Aquinas discusses the issues of God's knowledge per se, and His knowledge of future contingents, counterfactual, etc. Moreover, Aquinas discusses God's will, essence, necessity, the problem of evil and God's part in evil as it appears in creation, and much more. Thus, just in this one volume, Aquinas is nearly exhaustive in his presentation of the person and work of God.This translation (by Anton Pegis) is eloquently produced and easy to read and understand. While some of the classical terms will need to be understood (i.e. essence/existence, substance, perfect actuality, univocal/equivocal/analogical predications, etc) to gain a better grasp on what Aquinas is espousing, nonetheless, this work is a wonderful tool for those who want to gain a better grasp of Aquinas' thoughts on God.Finally, if you decide to purchase this volume, then I recommend not stopping with just this single volume, but buy the entire set. It is well worth the money invested. Moreover, the whole set works quite well as a reference tool for future research. I highly recommend it, especially since I consider Aquinas to be the greatest philosopher of the Medieval period, and it would be a pity to miss out on such good philosophy.

Thomas Aquinas was an extraordinarily systematic thinker and writer. Because of this, one of the best ways to comprehend "Summa Contra Gentiles" is through consideration of its structure. At the highest level, it consists of 4 books, with the third book in two parts, on account of its length. The titles of the five volumes are as follows:Summa Contra Gentiles: GodSumma Contra Gentiles: CreationSumma Contra Gentiles: Providence, Part ISumma Contra Gentiles: Providence, Part II*Summa Contra Gentiles: SalvationEach volume is formally divided into about 100 short chapters. A typical chapter gets its title from some proposition that is to be affirmed, or in some cases refuted. Each paragraph is an argument in support (or denial) of that proposition. The chapters are themselves ordered so that the later chapters build on what the arguments in the earlier chapters have established, and it is this arrangement of chapters that constitutes the real structure of "Summa Contra Gentiles".Although in his later "Summa Theologica", Thomas formalized the higher-level structure of his writing, he did not do so here, which somewhat complicates any presentation of this structure - the book titles are so high level that they give little feel of the work, and the chapter titles so numerous that the reader is easily overwhelmed by a list of them.In order to give the reader some sense of the overall work, I've prepared an outline of the work that (hopefully) is short enough to be readily comprehensible and long enough to give the reader an understanding of what topics are covered and in what order. This outline is presented below:1.0 Summa Contra Gentiles: God1.1 Intention of the Work (1 - 2)1.2 Truths of Reason and Revelation (3 - 9)1.3 That God Exists (10 - 13)1.4 That God is Eternal (14 - 20)1.5 God's Essence (21 - 28)1.6 That God is Known (29 - 36)1.7 That God is Good, One and Infinite (37 - 44)1.8 God's Intellect and Knowledge (44 - 71)1.9 God's Will (72 - 96)1.10 God's Life and Beatitude (97 - 102)2.0 Summa Contra Gentiles: Creation2.1 Purpose of the Work (1 - 5)2.2 That God is the Creator of All Things (6)2.3 God's Power Over His Creation (7 - 29)2.4 For and Against the Eternity of the World (30 - 38)2.5 The Distinction of Things (39 - 45)2.6 Intellectual Substances (46 - 55)2.7 The Intellect, the Soul and the Body (57 - 78)2.8 Immortality of Man's Soul (79 - 82)2.9 Origin of Man's Soul (83 - 89)2.10 On Non-human (Angelic) Intellects (90 - 101)3.0 Summa Contra Gentiles: Providence (Parts I and II)3.1 Prologue (1)3.2 Good, Evil, and God as the End of All Things (2 - 25)3.3 Human Felicity (26 - 63)3.4 How God's Providence Works (64 - 94)3.5 Prayer and Miracles, Magic and Demons (95 - 110)3.6 Rational Creatures and Divine Law (111 - 130)3.7 Voluntary Poverty and Continence (131 - 138)3.9 Rewards and Punishments (139 - 147)3.10 Sin, Grace, and Predestination (148 - 163)4.0 Salvation4.1 Forward (1)4.2 The Trinity (2 - 16)4.3 The Incarnation (27 - 55)4.4 The Sacraments (56 - 78)4.5 The Resurrection (79 - 97)-* in searching for Part II of "Providence" in Amazon's book catalog, be sure to search by the full title, or the search results may just return part I.

"Summa Contra Gentiles: Book One: God" is St. Thomas Aquinas' work in which he proclaims his philosophy of God. While differing from his Summa Theologica in form, it does bear it some resemblance. It consists of 102 chapters, each of which postulates a particular attribute of God. Each chapter then proves the postulated attribute by the application of philosophical reasoning. Support of authority, Scriptural or otherwise,. is only invoked after the issue has been established. This is a book which makes the reader think. Some chapters really leave the reader with the feeling of understanding something new. This book is not light reading. It requires the investment of serious intellectual energy. For the reader willing to make the investment, the rewards can be heavenly.

St. Thomas Aquinas explores with great aptitude the existence of god, along with many other issues of christian doctrine. This work is a must read for those who wish to defend the faith against the philosophical arguments of the non-theist. The "Summa contra Gentiles" and the "Summa Theologica" are pillars of christian theology in the midevil era (and the modern), and without a doubt the most profound arguments for the exsistence of god, and explanation for many doctrinal intricacies of the christian faith.

How to Win Friends & Influence People, by Dale Carnegie

Amazon.com Review

This grandfather of all people-skills books was first published in 1937. It was an overnight hit, eventually selling 15 million copies. How to Win Friends and Influence People is just as useful today as it was when it was first published, because Dale Carnegie had an understanding of human nature that will never be outdated. Financial success, Carnegie believed, is due 15 percent to professional knowledge and 85 percent to "the ability to express ideas, to assume leadership, and to arouse enthusiasm among people." He teaches these skills through underlying principles of dealing with people so that they feel important and appreciated. He also emphasizes fundamental techniques for handling people without making them feel manipulated. Carnegie says you can make someone want to do what you want them to by seeing the situation from the other person's point of view and "arousing in the other person an eager want." You learn how to make people like you, win people over to your way of thinking, and change people without causing offense or arousing resentment. For instance, "let the other person feel that the idea is his or hers," and "talk about your own mistakes before criticizing the other person." Carnegie illustrates his points with anecdotes of historical figures, leaders of the business world, and everyday folks. --Joan Price

My Dad gave me a copy of this when I graduated highschool in the 90s but I wasn't "ready" for it yet, I don't even think I read it to be honest. Now I'm 37 and realizing that I've put my personal growth on the back burner for entirely too long. I had pretty much given up on making new adult friends. I had actually self-diagnosed myself with Asperger's because I was having such a difficult time trying to figure out why people (including myself) do the things that do. The realization that my marriage was being effected by my nearly empty toolbox of social skills promoted me to take personal responsibility and shoulder the blame myself for once instead of blaming everyone around me for everything. I grew up with a hypercritical Mother so I think I had promised myself that I would never be criticized again, even if that meant writing people off the instant I felt like I had made myself vulnerable enough to be hurt by them. I couldn't find the copy that my dad gave me so I ordered a new one and chapter 1 alone is changing the way I look at EVERYTHING. I've been plagued with mild depression/anxiety for 20 years and I'm realizing that I've developed some unhealthy defense mechanisms to cope with these issues. I never turned to drugs or alcohol, but the fortress-like walls I've constructed to deal with criticism (real or perceived) aren't much better for me. I've re-read and taken notes on the first section of the book several times now and my wife is noticing and she seems quite relieved, i had no idea I could impact another persons life so strongly. Like I said, I am only getting started with the book and it has already helped me enough to warrant a 5-star rating. This book has stood the test of time for a reason and I can see why now. The strategies are applicable to and helpful in all aspects of my life so far, from my marriage to my job, and even to the way I interact with clerks in gas stations. I've read numerous self help books in the past, seen a therapist for 3 years, been through the gauntlet of antidepressants, etc, and until now I thought I was wasting my time. I've been learning things all along, but I never learned how to actually apply the things I had learned until now. This book speaks my language and if your background sounds even remotely similar I have a feeling that you'll agree.

I wish I had purchased this book sooner.Dale Carnegie's advice has remained constant and applicable across the years for a reason. It's simple and his techniques make perfect sense. If you're anything like me, you'll be kicking yourself when you see how you could have handled situations differently. I'm being transformed from a socially awkward, timid and defensive person, to someone that seems collected and confident. If you're having troubles in life and simply can't figure out what you're doing wrong, this is a fantastic place to start. Good luck on your journey!

In my honest opinion, several principles in this book are repeated around the book. I don't see it as a disadvantage, because repetition is the key to learning. I did think several of the principles explained in the book are common sense, but I found that it could be easy for a person to react quickly to conflicts. This book has taught me the importance of staying in control and how beneficial it is to be in control of our behaviors and act in a way of service to others. The examples described in the book made it simpler to understand the concepts that Dale is teaching. I recommend this book if you would like to improve your skills with people. This book is especially beneficial for those who are working on their businesses and close relationships. This book is divided into four parts. The first half of the book discusses techniques in handling people and how to have people like you. The final half of the book gives instructions about how to win people to our own thinking and how to be a leader by changing people without offending them or causing resentment. In the first part of the book, it is divided into three principles. The first principle emphasizes the importance of avoiding criticism and he describes working with people as: working with people of logic. He further describes complaining and criticizing as a foolish task to do and how it takes a person of character to understand, forgive, and have self-control. Principle # 2 describes the importance of honest and sincere appreciation. Within this principle he describes the importance of ending our own thinking of accomplishments and desires. Instead, we must put our focus on the other person's good qualities. If being sincere, this will cause people to cherish them in their minds, even years later. The third principle involves influencing the other person to want, but not in a way that is manipulative. With this principle, he describes the importance of self-expression and connects it to the importance of thinking in terms of the other person, so that they come up with your ideas on their own, which they will like more.Within the second part of the book, it teaches six principles. The first describes how critical it is to become interested in other people because you will make more friends compared to having others interested in you. When he moves onto the second principle, he explains the importance to smile in a heartwarming way because it will brighten the lives of those who see it. Dale then describes the importance to recall a person's name in the third principle. He gives tips on how to remember and then explains how people enjoy the sound of their own name. The fourth principle is about being a good listener and encouraging those to talk about themselves. He then goes onto to explain again that people are more interested in talking about themselves instead of others. He further explains this point in principle five: Talk in terms of the other person's interests. The final step is to sincerely make the other person feel important because this is the "deepest urge in human nature."Dale describes in the third part of the book the steps to have a person think in terms of your own thoughts. He then explains that it is better to avoid arguments and to show respect for other people's opinions and never tell them they are wrong. because it will further push them away. If there is fault in your own behavior, Dale explains to immediately admit you're wrong without any doubts. If you are upset, he explains to sit down and counsel together, and if there are differences, understand it. Even in some differences, there will be points of agreement. He then explains the importance of agreement and having the person say "yes," at least twice. You doing this by looking into the other person's viewpoint and asking questions that cause them to agree. It is essential to have friends do the talking and have them excel us, instead of excelling them. When this occurs, they will feel important. To further the notion of feeling important, it is important to have the individual create their own ideas. He deepens this idea by asking questions such as, "Why should he or she want to do it?" and then being sympathetic towards their ideas. In order to catch a person's attention, you must dramatise the ideas you have. If all else fails, he explains the importance of competition and how it drives people to feel important and empowered to work efficiently and effectively. In the final part of the book, Dale again discusses the importance of beginning with praise and honest appreciation. When someone makes a mistake, call to their mistakes indirectly. This can be done my making their mistakes your own and explaining the importance of fixing it and why it gave you a disadvantage. He then explains the importance of asking questions that direct the person you’re speaking to, to obtain your idea on their own. He emphasizes the importance of having the person be saved from embarrassment, and then explains the importance of praise again, even if it is small. Dale then gives examples of giving a person a reputation that makes them better, in order to have the person be motivated to improve. After giving someone a reputation to live up to, encourage the person to correct their faults and make them happy to do the actions you suggest.

I've never read a lot of Ken Follett's work. His two historical fiction novels, World Without End and Pillars of the Earth picqued my interest and led me to delve a little deeper into his earlier efforts. I must say after reading this novel that I was quite disappointed.A Place Called Freedom is at best quite mediocre. There is virtually nothing to recommend it above hundreds of other similar books. There were flashes of interest concerning mining conditions and southern plantation practices in the mid-18th century, but by and large it was utterly unremarkable.Hard working, ambitious, intelligent Scottish miner, spends 400 pages being attracted to a young open minded highly sexed heiress both in Scotland and over seas in pre-revolutionary America. I wonder how it ends?

This book serves its purpose, fulfilling a search for historical adventure in Scotland, England and Colonial America. Along the way some detail is provided on coal mining, the coal distribution system, tobacco growing, and importantly, slavery -- among white people in Europe and America, and black people in America. All of this surrounds the story of an exceptional man who yearns for freedom from all the constraints and restrictions he was born into, and his pursuit of a woman he has known since childhood. It is an event-filled, adventuresome life, and a story well-told, and well worth reading by those who enjoy history and adventure.

Ken Follett never ceases to surprise me! I've read so many books about "freedom" and they end up being about slavery in America, African American slavery. I had no idea this book was about a different type of slavery altogether. It's still slavery, and horrific details, etc, but I was pleasantly surprised by his characters, plot twists, etc. When I finish one of his books (usually at 2 or 3 am because I can't put them down!) I always wish the characters were real people! I would love to meet these characters in real life. Thank you!

I am a huge fan of Ken Follett, having read Pillars of the Earth and several others. This is the first time I was disappointed. The book itself is fairly good, but in some places it seems to include unnecessary details. For example, there are several paragraphs about how some characters are moving through a wooded area, from one point to another, with no significant reason why we would need to know all this detail. I am used to his books being suspenseful, and there is a little of that, but I think he missed a few opportunities here. I am glad that this book is about half the length of this others, because I would have definitely abandoned it otherwise. I find it ironic that his 900+ page books (like the Kingsbridge series) never have any slow or dragging moments, but this shorter one sure did!I strongly recommend this author - his 'long' books are amazing. Character development, especially how they overcome obstacles, is his specialty. Perhaps my expectations for World Without End were too high based on my knowledge of his other works.INSTEAD of this book - read Pillars of the Earth, A Column of Fire and World Without End (Kingsbridge series). Don't be intimidated by the length of these books, they do not have any 'slow' moments. You will not be disappointed.

Ken Follett is a masterful storyteller and A Place Called Freedom is no exception. The novel is fast paced and a real page turner with multidimensional characters and their stories blending with colorful history. My only complaint (and the reason for taking off one star) is the ending. I don't want to spoil this for those of you who are thinking about reading Freedom - I highly recommend you do - but the ending left me hanging and dying for more. There is so much more story worth telling here! My hope is that the author has done this purposefully because he has a sequel planned. I'll be watching and waiting . . .

This was not Follett’s best work,, and I’ve read a lot of his books. I skipped over entire sections that were just boring historical info that was not relevant to the plot line. The characters were not well developed and the story relied on endless improbable coincidences. Not a compelling read. I was disappointed.

Wife has always been a Follett fan, she read his trilogies and thought they were great. Have been searching for a new author who writes well. Follett in "A Place Called Freedom" met that need. This historical novel shed light on many practices regarding slaves and servants in Scotland and London which were carried to the New World.. in the midst of it all there is a compelling love story. Could not put this well written book down have ordered eye of the needle.

I have read a lot of Ken Follett books. I started more than 30 years ago with Lie Down with Lions. I loved that book, loved The Eye of the Needle, Night Over Water, etc. Most recently I read Pillars of the Earth and World Without End. I loved ALL of these stories. A Place Called Freedom just didn't measure up to those other Follett books I have loved. The main character is Mack, he works in a coal mine in Scotland. The people there believe they are property of mine owners; in essense they are enslaved. Mack tries to help the people and it's disastrous for him personally. He ends up in London where he again is tied to the coal industry and tries to help the workers. Again, it is disastrous for him personally. He can't seem to escape from being under the thumb of the people he has been under his entire life. Even when he is thousands of miles from his birthplace, he is still under the thumb of these same people. It seems highly improbable. The good points of the book: The strong willed female protagonist. Liked her sense of justice and integrity. Got glimpses into the way coal was mined 150 years ago. Very enlightening. Learned the meaning of cowpenned.

Introduction And It Came to Pass And it came to pass, When men began to multiply on the face of the Earth and daughters were born unto them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair, and they took them wives of all which they chose. There were giants upon the Earth in those days and also thereafter too, When the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men and they bare children to them--the same Mighty Men of old, Men of Renown. The reader, if familiar with the King James English version of the Bible, will recognize these verses as the preamble, in chapter 6 of Genesis, to the story of the Deluge, the Great Flood in which Noah, huddled in an ark, was saved to repopulate the Earth. The reader, if familiar with my writings, will also recognize these verses as the reason why many decades ago, a schoolboy was prompted to ask his teacher why it is “giants” who are the subject of these verses, when the word in the original Hebrew text is Nihilism--which, stemming from the Hebrew verb Navel, means to fall down, to be downed, to come down--and in no way ‘giants’. The schoolboy was I. Instead of being congratulated on my linguistic acumen, I was harshly reprimanded. “Sitchin, sit down!” the teacher hissed with repressed anger. “You don’t question the Bible!” I was deeply hurt that day, for I was not questioning the Bible--on the contrary, I was pointing out the need to understand it accurately. And that was what changed my life’s direction to pursue the Nefilim. Who were they, and who were their “Mighty Men” descendants? The search for answers started with linguistic questions. The Hebrew text does not speak of “Men” who began to multiply, but of Ha’Adam--“The Adam,” a generic term, a human species. It does not speak of the sons of “God,” but uses the term Bnei Ha-Elohim--the sons (in the plural) of The Elohim, a plural term taken to mean “gods” but literally meaning “The Lofty Ones.” The “Daughters of The Adam” were not “fair,” but Tovoth--good, compatible . . . And unavoidably we find ourselves confronting issues of origins. How did Mankind happen to be on this planet, and whose genetic code do we carry? In just three verses and a few words--forty-nine words in the original Hebrew of Genesis--the Bible describes the creation of Heaven and Earth, then records an actual prehistoric time of early Mankind and a series of amazing events, including a global Flood, the presence on Earth of gods and their sons, inter-species intermarriage, and demigod offspring . . . And so, starting with one word (Nefilim), I told the tale of the Anunnaki, “Those who from Heaven to Earth came”--space travelers and interplanetary settlers who came from their troubled planet to Earth in need of gold and ended up fashioning The Adam in their image. In doing so I brought them to life--recognizing them individually, unraveling their tangled relationships, describing their tasks, loves, ambitions, and wars--and identifying their inter-species offspring, the ‘demigods’. I have been asked at times where my interests would have taken me were the teacher to compliment rather than reprimand me. In truth, I have asked myself a different question: What if indeed “there were giants upon the Earth, in those days and thereafter too”? The cultural, scientific, and religious implications are awesome; they lead to the next unavoidable questions: Why did the compilers of the Hebrew Bible, which is totally devoted to monotheism, include the bombshell verses in the prehistoric record--and what were their sources? I believe that I have found the answer. Deciphering the enigma of the demigods (the famed Gilgamesh among them), I conclude in this book--my crowning oeuvre--that compelling physical evidence for past alien presence on Earth has been buried in an ancient tomb. It is a tale that has immense implications for our genetic origins--a key to unlocking the secrets of health, longevity, life, and death; it is a mystery whose unraveling will take the reader on a unique adventure and finally reveal what was held back from Adam in the Garden of Eden. Sumer, it is now known, was the land of a talented and dexterous people in what is now southern Iraq. Usually depicted in artful statues and statuettes in a devotional stance, it was the Sumerians who were the first ones to record and describe past events and tell the tales of their gods. It was there, in the fertile plain watered by the great Euphrates and Tigris rivers, that Mankind’s first known civilization blossomed out some 6,000 years ago--“suddenly,” “unexpectedly,” “with stunning abruptness,” according to all scholars. It was a civilization to which we owe, to this day, virtually every ‘First’ of what we deem essential to an advanced civilization: The wheel and wheeled transportation; the brick that made (and still makes) possible high-rise buildings; furnaces and the kiln that are essential to industries from baking to metallurgy; astronomy and mathematics; cities and urban societies; kingship and laws; temples and priesthoods; timekeeping, a calendar, festivals; from beer to culinary recipes, from art to music and musical instruments; and, above all, writing and record keeping--it was all first there, in Sumer. The philological recognition of Sumerian began, as we have illustrated, not through the discovery of the Sumerians’ own tablets, but through the varied use, in Akkadian texts, of ‘loan words’ that were not Akkadian; the naming of gods and cities by names that made no sense in Assyrian or Babylonian; and of course by actual statements (as that by Ashurbanipal) about the existence of earlier writings in ‘Shumerian’. Though virtually everything that we consider essential to a developed civilization has been inherited from the Sumerians, many people still respond with a blank “Who?” when they hear the word ‘Sumerian’ . . .

This book has so much information. Zecharia did write a book or two with SO much information. That it made the book hard and in ways slow and boring to read. This is NOT one of the books. This book is up there. A three way tie on his best books. The others are -the 12th planet and Lost book of Enki. An eye opener.

I don't know how much truth there is in Zecharia Sitchin's books, but I do know one thing, he took a lot of time and research putting all of his theories/beliefs together and they make damn good sense - I'm reading all of his books and they are fascinating, some of the best reading I've ever come across - and I believe when things come together like they do in his books, they are worthy of consideration - there is some truth in everything and I am proud to be reading what he has to say, it's just plain fascinating - and did I say it was fascinating reading?... well it is... ;-)

The last chapter is worth waiting for - a museum in London has the remains of what might possibly be an Annunaki woman! Sitchin, using his detective skills, has even figured out her lineage & deduced she's from Enlil's clan! The museum has refused to do DNA testing on her, which, I believe, is due to not wanting to know of her true heritage. What are they afraid of, the truth?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I've read almost all of Mr. Sitchin's previous books and I am convinced that he has single-handedly solved the mystery of how and why we humans came to exist on this planet. As some other reviewers have noted, much of this book is a rehashing of the theories & evidence presented in his earlier books. I personally do not see this as a drawback because I welcomed having a nice concise summary of his theories of humanity's origin. And the climax of this book is amazing. Mr. Sitchin has done some great detective work and I only hope someone with the means & opportunity will perform the DNA testing he suggests. This book is a wonderful culmination of this great man's life-long work, and I applaud him for it.

All I should say, Sitchin, once more analyses the origins and ancient history of humanity. Based, as all his books, on the writings of the Sumerian Tablets - a source of history of 5,000 plus years ago - reveals the real events and facts about our past. What is written in the bible and other "holy" books, is taken from the same soource - the Sumerian Tablets - translated and adjusted/modified to suit the clerky and create "religion" the way it is dished to us today!

This was a book that I'd got from a library a while back and was so fascinated that I wanted to read it again to retain for my own reference library! Zecharia Sitchin's books are always a thought-provoking read because of the wealth of detail and research that went into all of them. I feel he had the answer to Man's origins. This edition is more digestible for the general reader because as other reviewers have indicated, it reads like a detective story, culminating in a really gob-smacking ending. I recommend this book to anyone intrigued by this subject of "Ancient Aliens", for want of a better word. Thanks Amazon for coming up with the goods!

Sitchin weaves together the Biblical tales that I grew up on with the Sumerian tablets, which provide a much more detailed viewpoint of the development of civilization. Although this book is about history, it reads more like a mystery story or a suspense novel. Having read other Sitchin books, it helps me to understand how Kingship was established and why people even today place such a high value on royalty. As a psychotherapist, it also helps me understand human nature, because if we were gene-spliced from the Anunnaki, they had many of the same relationship mindsets we have! With Inanna's wanting jewels and Gilgamesh wanting physical mastery, and everyone wanting power and control, the challenges are the same now as then. But the stakes are higher, as overpopulation and nuclear use threaten the survival of humans on our planet. I pray we will collectively wake up to the enormous beauty of our planet Earth and will do what is necessary to treat her gently so she can continue to support us.Barbara Stone, author of Invisible Roots: How Healing Past Life Trauma Can Liberate Our Present

Fantastic. Sitchin goes to great historical lengths to compair the ancient Hebrew texts to the earliest of Christian writings to find the similaritys to the earliest hieroglyphics. The book is filled with references to specific ancient tablets, carvings in stone and writings and text on papyrus to prove giants did indeed walk upon this earth.
