About the Author
As much as any writer, Gardner Fox helped create the tone and feel of the Batman stories of the 1960s. Fox was an attorney who began his prolific and innovative second career as a writer in the late 1930s on Batman and went on to create such Golden Age classics as the original Flash, Hawkman, Starman, Doctor Fate, and the Justice Society of America. His influence extended throughout the 1950s and 1960s when, until his retirement from DC Comics in 1968, he created and/or wrote such memorable features as the Justice League of America, Adam Strange, the Atom, Hawkman, and, of course, Batman, all under the auspices of legendary comics editor Julius Schwartz. Until his death in 1986, Gardner Fox continued writing comics and novels. He published over 100 books in numerous genres, some under the pseudonyms of Jefferson Cooper and Bart Sommers, as well as many fantasy novels under his own name.

Absolutely beautiful BIG, bright, colorful, and shiny book! This charming book has the Adam Strange crossover issue. Then we begin with the Hawkman initiation and move on through the Sekowsky/Giacoia period and into the Sekowsky/Greene issues(magnificent artwork) then into the early Dillin/Greene stuff. Wow! Wonderful, crazy Silver Age adventure with incredible art and an endless stream of the most colorful Silver and Golden Age heroes ever assembled! (Sorry, Avenger fans, but it's true!).And they all work TOGETHER as super friends united to do GOOD (To protect and serve). Let's give the younger generation some lofty ideals to strive for instead of a low view of "reality" to settle for. JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA FOREVER!
Great for people studying graphic art or who grew up in the time period these stories were first printed; nice coloring and line work reproduction with solid binding. Further- if you're coming to this material for the first time there are two other omnibi available at this point also in full color with another solicited so if you buy them all you can follow quite a large piece of the story in chronological order- or you can just get this if it's the time period you remember best; a pleasure to read. Enjoy.

It contains more stories then the first one and it will leaving you wanting more and anxiously awaiting DC to announce when the 3rd omnibus is due out next year. This one takes you right up to the story when Snapper Carr betrays the league and resigns. That one would start the third omnibus.You will love both of these omnibus books as they will make a fantastic addition to anyone's collection.
